Terms and Conditions
These Booking Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the contract between TATTVAMASI Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, “our”, “TATTVAMASI”), and the traveller making the booking (“you”, “your”, “traveller”).
Please read these Terms carefully before making a booking.
By confirming a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. ABOUT US
TATTVAMASI Limited is a UK-based travel organiser specialising in pilgrimage, spiritual, cultural and adventure travel, including the Mount Kailash / Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
Where your booking consists of two or more travel services sold together for the same trip, your booking may constitute a package under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018.
In such cases, you will benefit from all rights applying to package travel.
2. YOUR CONTRACT
A binding contract comes into existence when:
- we issue a written booking confirmation, and
- we receive the required deposit or full payment
The lead traveller making the booking confirms that they have authority to accept these Terms on behalf of all persons included in the booking.
The lead traveller is responsible for ensuring that all travellers are aware of and comply with these Terms.
3. BOOKING AND PAYMENT
3.1 Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of [10% / £250.00] per traveller is payable at the time of booking.
3.2 Balance Payment
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30th April 2026 .
If the balance is not paid on time, we may cancel the booking and retain the deposit.
3.3 Late Bookings
For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required immediately.
4. PRICE AND PRICE CHANGES
All prices are quoted in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated.
We reserve the right to amend prices before confirmation.
After booking confirmation, price changes shall only be made where permitted by law, including changes in:
- taxes
- exchange rates
- transport costs
- government levies
- permit charges
Any such changes will be communicated in writing.
Where an increase exceeds 8% of the total package price, you may have rights to cancel without penalty. (GOV.UK)
5. PASSPORTS, VISAS AND PERMITS
You are solely responsible for ensuring that you possess:
- a valid passport
- visas
- transit permissions
- travel permits
- health certificates
- pilgrimage approvals
required for the journey.
While we may assist with information, responsibility remains with the traveller.
For Mount Kailash travel, route permissions may involve India, Nepal, Tibet / China and border authorities.
Failure to obtain documentation shall not entitle you to a refund.
6. HEALTH, FITNESS AND MEDICAL DISCLOSURE
Mount Kailash travel involves extreme altitude, physically demanding terrain, and remote travel conditions.
Altitude may exceed 5,600 metres.
You must ensure that you are medically fit to travel.
You must disclose any relevant medical condition before booking, including but not limited to:
- heart disease
- respiratory conditions
- hypertension
- mobility issues
- previous altitude sickness
- pregnancy
- recent surgery
We reserve the right to refuse travel where safety concerns exist.
Failure to disclose material medical conditions may result in cancellation without refund.
7. TRAVEL INSURANCE (MANDATORY)
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all travellers.
Your insurance must specifically cover:
- high-altitude trekking above 5,000m
- medical emergencies
- emergency evacuation
- helicopter rescue
- cancellation and curtailment
- personal belongings
- repatriation
- trip interruption
Proof of insurance may be requested prior to departure.
Failure to obtain suitable insurance may result in cancellation.
8. CHANGES BY YOU
Any requested change after confirmation is subject to availability.
An administration fee of £200.00 per change may apply, together with any supplier charges.
Name changes may be permitted where legally possible.
9. CANCELLATION BY YOU
Cancellation must be made in writing.
The following charges apply:
- more than 90 days before departure: deposit only
- 60–89 days: 50%
- 30–59 days: 75%
- less than 30 days: 100%
These charges reflect costs incurred with international suppliers and permits.
10. CANCELLATION OR CHANGES BY US
We reserve the right to cancel or amend trips where necessary due to:
- safety concerns
- permit refusal
- border closures
- weather conditions
- landslides
- political restrictions
- force majeure
Where a significant change or cancellation occurs, we will offer:
- an alternative trip, or
- an appropriate refund
subject to legal rights under package travel regulations. (GOV.UK)
11. FORCE MAJEURE
We shall not be liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including:
- natural disasters
- severe weather
- government action
- civil unrest
- war
- terrorism
- epidemics
- border closure
- pilgrimage route suspension
This includes restrictions imposed by authorities in India, Nepal or Tibet / China.
12. OUR RESPONSIBILITY
Where your booking is a package, we are responsible for the proper performance of the travel services included in the package as a whole, even where services are provided by overseas partners. (GOV.UK)
However, we are not liable for loss or damage caused by:
- your own acts or omissions
- acts of third parties unconnected with the package
- unavoidable and extraordinarycircumstances
13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Except in cases of death, personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or statutory liability which cannot be excluded, our liability shall be limited to the total cost of the booking.
We shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under UK consumer law.
14. CONDUCT AND SAFETY
We reserve the right to remove any traveller whose behaviour:
- endangers themselves or others
- breaches local laws
- disrupts the group
- disregards guide instructions
- creates safety risks at altitude
No refund shall be due in such cases.
15. COMPLAINTS
If you have a complaint during the trip, you must notify:
1. the local guide / representative immediately, and
2. TATTVAMASI in writing as soon as reasonably possible
Failure to report issues promptly may affect our ability to resolve them.
16. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction
